Intuitive Art Workshop
This gentle creative practice invites you to settle into your body and access inner stillness through expressive art. We’ll begin with grounding breathwork to calm the nervous system, followed by warm-up exercises to awaken creative energy. From there, you’ll move into a free-flowing process of playful layering using a variety of visual mediums, including colored pencils, scrape art, watercolors, collage, markers, and more. No artistic experience is necessary—only a willingness to release expectations and be present with what emerges. All supplies are provided.
Rachel (she/her) is a certified therapeutic art facilitator and multidisciplinary artist with nearly two decades of experience, working across stained glass, poetry, live painting, ceramics, printmaking, and photography. Holding a Bachelor’s in Intercultural Studies, her work carries activist roots grounded in the belief that creativity is not a luxury, but resistance. Through her own healing journey, Rachel discovered expressive art as a pathway to authenticity, presence, and spiritual insight. As a facilitator and keynote speaker, she leads spaces ranging from intimate gatherings to large groups, holding creativity as a portal to wholeness, resilience, and collective hope in times of trauma.

Seed Starting Party & Story Time!
Join us for a delightful kids’ event featuring author Carolyn Olson and her book Pearl’s Garden!
Carolyn will be reading from Pearl’s Garden at 10:30am and again at 11:30am. Between readings, children are invited to ask Carolyn questions, learn more about her story, and get hands-on by planting their own seeds to start a garden of their very own.
All seed-starting supplies will be provided, so kids can dig in, create, and take home something special. This interactive event is perfect for young readers and budding gardeners alike!
We can’t wait to grow, read, and learn together.
Pysanky (Ukrainian Egg Dying)
Join us in this thousands-year-old spring ritual to bring the sun back! Pysanky, or dyed Ukrainian eggs, are created using beeswax and dye in layers on emptied eggshells with various symbols, designs and colors. Learn about this tradition, while making your own egg. Bring yourself - in clothing that may get dyed! Design ideas and all materials will be provided.
It is said:
“As long as people are making Pysanky the world will continue to exist.”
The legend goes that there is a great monster chained up in a cave. Each year he sends out his spies into the world to see if people are making easter eggs. If people are making eggs, the spies come back and tighten the chains, keeping the world safe. But if people are not making eggs, the spies don’t come back and the chains become looser. Eventually the monster will come out and it will be the end of the world.
I find it interesting that, traditionally, it was only women who were allowed to make the eggs. So… the fate of the world rested on women’s shoulders.
Pysanky symbolize rebirth and are not meant to be held onto. It is my practice each year to make an egg for my son, to plant an egg at the graves of my grandmothers, and to gift remaining eggs to children and as gratitude for those who inspire me to share my creativity with them.
As eggshells were great fertilizer, Pysanky are given as offering for an abundant season of growth. With the winter we’ve had here in Minneapolis, I am inspired to bury this year’s eggs in our beautiful and badass city this Easter! May we experience a rebirth, a nourishing summer, and a harvest like we’ve never seen!
Participants are welcome to keep your egg creation for your very own.

This class will be led step-by-step from start to finish, with clear instruction and all tools and paints provided for you! You are welcome to follow along as closely as you would like, or take as much creative liberty as you would like. Bre is an artist based in NE Minneapolis. She creates modern, abstract acrylic paintings, with a focus on combining shapes, colors, and textures into patterns that evoke positive emotion or intrigue. In her paintings, she embraces the creative process as just as valuable as the final product, which often means being pleasantly surprised by the artistic outcomes she could not have fully predicted! Through her business A Brush of Joy, she is fulfilling her dream to bring the JOY of creativity to others and make art forms more accessible to her community. She does this through leading "paint & sip" events, teaching partner dance lessons (she used to teach and compete professionally in ballroom dance!), and painting custom pet portraits.
