This Holiday Season

For many families, this holiday season will be unlike any other. Whether you've had to change your holiday plans, host a smaller gathering or will prepare your very first Thanksgiving meal, Eastside is here to help you along the way. As we prepare for the hustle and bustle of holidays at the co-op, we want to make the experience simple for shoppers and safe for everyone in the store. We've put together some tips and recommendations for your 2020 holiday grocery shopping.

Plan ahead
Out of care for the safety and wellbeing of our community, we will continue to limit the number of shoppers in our store. Please be prepared to wait. Weekends and early evenings can be some of the busiest times at the co-op. Consider coming in to do your shopping a different time to avoid lines.

Place your turkey and holiday catering orders in advance. You'll enjoy the peace of mind and our team will have everything ready for you when you come in to do your shopping.

Purchase your packaged goods in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, so your holiday shopping trip can focus primarily on fresh items.

Come prepared with a list. Organizing your list by order of store layout (beginning with produce and ending with wellness items) can make your shopping trip more efficient.

Savor Simplicity
It's ok to pare down this year's menu or go in a different direction with your holiday meal planning. A smaller family gathering is a great chance to try something new like a whole salmon fillet or roasted pork tenderloin. If you're flying solo in the kitchen, consider a one-pan roast with all your favorite root vegetables nestled in alongside the main dish. Sometimes the simplest meals are the most delicious!

Make time for what matters most
At Eastside, our holiday tradition is sourcing the freshest local food available, so you can spend less time shopping and more time around the table with your loved ones. Order your holiday groceries for delivery or curbside pickup via Eastside To Go.

Take the worry off your plate with Eastside holiday catering. Our holiday meals, side dishes and desserts are made from scratch in our co-op kitchen. With vegan, vegetarian and wheat-free options, Eastside has everything you need to make the holidays festive - and delicious!
