NE Network - Public Education in NE Minneapolis
NE Network - where people from many organizations and interests can share information and make new connections
Eastside Food Co-op
2551 Central Avenue NE
Minneapolis, MN 55418
(in the meeting room at the front of the building)
This month's focus: K-12 public education in Northeast Minneapolis
The success of our public education system is vitally important to everyone in our community, whether we are parents or business owners, elected officials or neighbors. The question we'll be asking is how we're ensuring that our public education system is preparing our kids for the economy of the future.
Joining our panel discussion will be:
*Carla Steinbach, Principal of Edison High School
*Dr. Padmini Udupa, Principal of Northeast Middle School
*Dr. Pao Vue, Principal of PillsburyMiddle School
Thanks to everyone who joined us at the inaugural meeting of the Northeast Network last month at the Eastside Food Co-op. We were thrilled with the great turnout.
"Dialogue is a positive endeavor. It builds solidarity and creates unity . . . . [It] gives rise to trust, even among those who don't see eye to eye."

Water Wars
In every corner of the globe, we are polluting, diverting, pumping, and wasting our supply of fresh water at an expediential level. The rampant overdevelopment of agriculture, housing and industry increase the demands for fresh water. Corporate giants force developing countries to privatize their water supply for profit. Military control of water emerges and a new geo-political map and power structure forms, setting the stage for world water wars. As Maude Barlow proclaims, "This is our revolution, this is our war" A line is crossed as water becomes a commodity.

• Greenlite CFLs, 13w (equivalent to a 60 watt incandescent bulb)
• soft white ultra-mini spirals

When that bulb does finally burn out, please make sure you dispose of it properly. CFLs cannot be placed in the trash in Minneapolis, nor are they picked up as a separated recyclable. According to the Solid Waste and Recycling department of the City of Minneapolis, “Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFL) can now be recycled at Menard’s or Home Depot. Only CFL are accepted. How do we start a community composting program?
How would you feel about eliminating all bottled water?
How can the EFC best make use of available space to expand operations?
What options should have highest priority in the next 10 years?
How can EFC and its members help to maintain the vitality and viability of our great community?
How can we be more involved with the public education system in NE Mpls?
Can we connect with local artists and create a Co-op gallery?
Don’t pass up your chance to participate. The Eastside Food Cooperative wants your input!
