NE Network - Transportation
Come by bus, auto, bike, or foot—but be sure to attend the next Northeast Network to talk about transit planning in Northeast Minneapolis!
The Network will be held Thursday, April 8, from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. at the Eastside Food Co-op’s Community Room at 2551 Central Ave NE.
We have a great line-up of guests able to address the many modes of transit that exist or are envisioned for Northeast, so please be sure to come with your questions. Joining our discussion will be:
• Michelle Dibblee, Transit for Livable Communities Ms. Dibblee is a Senior Organizer with TLC and a Northeast resident, and will speak about biking and walking programs, among other things.
• Kevin Reich, City Council Member, Ward 1. Councilmember Reich is our new Ward 1 representative on the City Council and a longstanding supporter of public transit options.
• Mark Stenglein, Hennepin County Commissioner, 2nd District Commissioner Stenglein is the County representative for Northstar and the Northern Lights Express and has met with the City and Anoka County on possible streetcars on Central.
• Metro Transit planning (tentative). We anticipate that a representative from Metro Transit will be able to join us to talk about arterial BRT and other aspects of transit planning along Central Avenue.
Please email board@eastsidefood.coop by Tuesday, April 6, to let us know if you are able to make it, so that we can be sure to have enough muffins and coffee! We look forward to seeing you at the Co-op!
