Julie Johnson & The No-Accounts
Julie Johnson & The No-Accounts at the Black Dog Coffee & Wine Bar
Julie Johnson & The No-Accounts is made up of me on flute, Doug Otto on vocals and guitar, and Drew Druckrey on guitar, resonator guitar, vocals, and mandolin. If you missed our debut show at the Fine Line, or left that show wanting more, here's your chance ...
We play folk, old country, and blues with unusual stylizations and arrangements. Currently we're adding to our standard repertoire by finding and arranging old North Woods logging and voyageur songs, looking for the Upper Midwest's equivalent to the South's rich roots tradition. Our set includes a version of Leadbelly’s “Where Did You Sleep Last Night” influenced by music from Carmen, and a version of the little-known Bob Dylan tune “Winterlude” for flute, vocals, mandolin, and bass clarinet.
