Join us to support Land Stewardship Project's work to build sustainable and just food systems in Minnesota's small towns and urban areas. Minnesota has rich agricultural land and farmers growing good food, yet our food still travels an average of 1,500 miles to our tables. Small towns and core urban neighborhood often have no place to buy fresh fruits, vegetables and other healthy foods.
Despite these challenges, Minnesotans continue to develop creative ways to feed ourselves, our communities and steward the land.On May 15 we will hear from farmers who are doing just that in rural Minnesota and the heart of Minneapolis, and hear updates on LSP's work to cultivate strong food and farming systems.
* Laura Frerichs of Loon Organics in Hutchinson, MN - hear about her organic vegetable farm, working to make a good living, and providing healthy food
* Jeremy McAdams of Cherry Tree House Mushrooms - urban mushroom production and how his Minneapolis neighborhood is cultivating food and community.
Enjoy appetizers donated by many excellent local restaurants, including:
* Modern Cafe
* Brasa Premium Rotisserie
* Bryant Lake Bowl
* Cafe Barbette
* Red Stag Supper Club
* Bedlam Theatre
