NE Network: A monthly conversation between Northeast's organizations, businesses, educators, elected officials, police, art collectives, and various groups int he faith community. There are already so many good things going on in Northeast -- let's come together to make it even better! Help us to build a civic partnership for a stronger Northeast Minneapolis!

Topic: "Where'd all that stuff go?" A conversation about how the waste stream flows
from and through our community, and ways that we can lessen our impact.
Our September meeting will focus on issues of waste and waste disposal in and through Northeast Minneapolis, and provide an opportunity for us to consider questions such as:
* What kinds and how much waste does our community generate? Where does it go?
* What kinds of human health impacts do different components of the waste stream have? How can we reduce them?
* What kinds of legislative proposals or public programs are in the works to address our mounting waste issues?
* What kinds of practical steps can individuals and businesses take to lessen the load?
Our panelists will include:
* Susan Young, Director, City of Minneapolis Solid Waste and Recycling
* John Jaimez, organics recycling coordinator with Hennepin County Environmental Services
* Kathleen Schuler, MPH, Co-Director, Healthy Legacy of the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy

ArtShare NE Parade Project - FUNdraiser
LOCAL MUSIC & FOOD...

A fundraiser will be held Sunday, May 23 at Grumpy's NE. 1-6pm to support ArtShare and the 2010 Parade Project. ArtShare is a Northeast Minneapolis community arts group that is facilitating workshops in creating wearable “floats”, masks and banners in preparation for marching in the Northeast Parade. ArtShare encourages folks of all ages and backgrounds to represent the diversity of Northeast.
There will be food, silent auction and music by ELIZA BLUE and THE CACTUS BLOSSOMS and PAUL COOK.
Be there! Have fun with your neighbors, and help make the Northeast Parade represent all NORTHEASTERS!
